In this video, I share one of the most important lessons from 20 years of running my own business.
Lesson 5: You must always know what you need to bring in to make your business work
That means knowing your break-even point and understanding exactly how much income you need daily, weekly or monthly. But it goes deeper than that.
You also need to know what you need to sell and who you need to sell it to in order to reach those numbers.
This level of clarity gives you focus and stops you from drifting into work that keeps you busy but does not support your business financially.
As my business grew, I realised how easy it is to lose sight of what actually makes money. There are so many opportunities to not make money when you run your own business.
Knowing your numbers protects you and keeps you aligned with the work that sustains you.
