In this video, I share a lesson I learned far too late in my business journey.
Lesson 6: Just because you can do anything does not mean you should do everything
When you run your own business, it is easy to take on every task. You become the marketer, the finance team, the admin support and the strategist. It feels necessary, especially in the early days, but it quickly becomes overwhelming.
One of the best pieces of advice I received at the very start was to get an accountant. At the time, it felt unnecessary. I was tiny and barely making any money. But it saved me hours of stress and freed me to focus on the work that actually grew my business.
Over the years, I have been challenged repeatedly with the same question: Why are you doing this?
Can someone else do it? Can you outsource it? Can you bring someone in?
When you stop doing everything, you create space for the work only you can do.
The leadership. The creativity. The strategic thinking.
The magic that moves your business forward.
